I already announced it in last week’s video. Today we dive into how to create awesome full hard hitting epic trailer hits. I show you how I’ve made the ones that I used in my hybrid orchestral music track Unleashed. You’ll see that they consist out of two percussion libraries and three different samples. This combination results in a great sounding hit with a full frequency spectrum.

Layering libraries and samples for epic trailer hits
Hybrid orchestral trailer music just needs epic trailer hits. With some good percussion libraries and high quality samples you can create these sounds. You simply have to layer them.
In the video I show you how I’ve used two percussion libraries and 3 three samples to create the hits I used in Unleashed. The libraries are 8Dio Epic Frame Drums and Heavyocity Damage. Two very well known libraries when creating music within this genre.
By stacking different drum sounds from these two percussion libraries I already had an full and hard percussion sound. But it needed a little bit more!
So I layered them with three different samples. A vocal sample with a bang in it. A low boom sound with a bang in it. And a whoosh hit sample.
All together they sounds pretty well. In my humble opinion 😉
I hope you enjoyed the video. Say hi on Youtube, don’t forget to subscribe and feel free to ask me a question over there!
