Mixing Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion

Gh0stwrit3r · November 7, 2019

How to mix woodwinds, brass, percussion and the piano and harp in a realistic orchestral mockup? That is the question that I’ll answer in this video. I’ll show you my workflow, the plugins that I use and why and how I use them. Hopefully this will give you some guidance when mixing your own orchestral mockups.

Don’t forget to hit that like button if you appreciate this video. And sub to my channel to listen to my music or if you’re interested in how to write orchestral music for film, tv and games.

Mixing orchestral woodwinds, brass and percussion

Don’t we all love the orchestral sound. That Hollywood sound never bores us. But how do achieve that sound when you mix woodwinds, brass and percussion?

If you’re interested in the Waves plugins that I use (API 550A Equaliser, S1 Imager and NLS) and planning to buy them. If you use this referral link you’ll get an additional 10% discount!

In this video I show you how I only use a couple of plugins to mix woodwinds, brass and percussion. With subtle, almost not noticeable adjustments per track I can realise a huge effect on these orchestral families played all together.
